The Gemini-powered Meet feature is a bit more useful for workspace teams. This generates a checklist of the next steps proposed at the end of the meeting, assigning due dates and attaching key stakeholders to the task.
The note-taking feature was first launched last August. I’ve been playing around here a bit since then, but so far it hasn’t had completely disastrous results.
Gemini’s voice-to-text transcription can accurately separate the speakers and explain everything that is being discussed almost exactly, but it’s not always perfect. A surprisingly coherent, cohesive structure in Google Docs summarises the results automatically shared with participants after meeting conclusions.
This new Action Item feature will begin rolling out today, but Google says it will “reach at a much slower pace than usual, as it monitors performance and quality carefully.
