Writing teachers have always struggled with emerging technologies that spell impending doom for students’ future success in the writing classroom. Professors in the English Department are finding innovative ways to use generative artificial intelligence and other machine learning tools to help students learn how to succeed in a rapidly changing information environment.
Our students are also gaining confidence in the incredibly powerful tools they have to improve their writing and the opportunities for success after graduation. Rather than fearing the potential and promise of future technologies, the ECU community is learning how to work with AI.
