TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A new education model will soon debut in Arizona.
It combines traditional learning with the power of artificial intelligence.
This innovative approach is being implemented through Unbound Academy, a state-of-the-art virtual school approved by the Arizona State Board of Education.
Students enrolled in the virtual Unbound Academy typically attend six hours of virtual school.
However, this structure has an innovative time approach, with two hours dedicated solely to academic learning through artificial intelligence applications, and the remaining four hours focused on developing important life skills.
Importantly, schools are staffed with real educators who act as academic guides and provide personalized support to students.
Co-founder Mackenzie Price emphasized the role of AI in enhancing education, saying: This provides personalized learning and allows teachers to do what they do best: engage personally with each student. ”
The concept aroused a mix of excitement and skepticism among local residents.
Some community members believe this model is a game changer.
Tucson resident Bob Gottfried praised the integration of AI, saying: Humans and computers work together. Computers are great tools because they remember things that humans don’t. ”
But some are more cautious.
Former educator Norma Scholl expressed concern, saying: “There are already a lot of things that stand in the way of a good education. I don’t think kids need more of this kind of thing.”
Despite the disagreements, the Two Hour Learning team is optimistic about their vision.
“We are excited to offer Arizona families a new option and look forward to what the future holds,” Price added.
