PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Leaders from the state of Arizona and the city of Phoenix announced a program Tuesday aimed at strengthening the state’s booming semiconductor industry.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs joined Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, TSMC Arizona President Rose Castanares, and state education leaders to announce new apprenticeships for the industry.

A new training program for the semiconductor industry is scheduled to start in January 2025.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the start of National Apprenticeship Week and the Governor’s Apprenticeship Innovation Summit hosted by the National Governors Association.
Recently, Governor Hobbs announced the fifth installment of the Future48 Workforce Accelerator, which provides students with a direct pipeline of field experience and helps them secure jobs in Arizona’s growing high-tech industry.
