Purdue University dedicated its new Hall of Data Science and AI on Friday (October 18). A state-of-the-art facility, the building will help meet the growing demand for data science graduates in everything from healthcare and manufacturing to agriculture and transportation.
The renovation of the Student Services Hall, formerly known as Helen B. Schleman Hall, will enable students and faculty to take full advantage of the limitless potential of artificial intelligence, while transforming data into information, innovation, and knowledge. A new facility has been created in the center of the campus. Here, form and function come together through interdisciplinary projects spanning science, engineering, and liberal arts in an open and welcoming environment.
“The Hall of Data Science and AI will allow Purdue to meet the demands of a growing and broader range of students interested in these subjects as a major, minor, or certificate.” President Moon Chan said. “This also reflects the University’s investment in ‘physical AI’. AI bites match the atoms of what we grow, what we create, and what we move.”
Following a unique renovation, the Stewart Center now serves as the University’s primary destination for student services, including admissions, financial aid, scholarships and registrar functions.
