April, Spotify Introducing AI Playlists in Betagives Premium subscribers in the UK and Australia another tool to accelerate music discovery and curation. Now we’re expanding this feature to give more users another opportunity to express themselves through the music they love. Starting today, English language AI Playlists are rolling out in beta to Premium users on Android and iOS devices in the US, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
AI Playlists combines Spotify’s powerful personalization technology with generative AI to help users turn their most creative ideas into playlists. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a playlist-making guru, this feature offers a fun and easy way to create and curate the perfect mix of music just for you.
Spotify playlists are hotbeds of discovery, fostering deep relationships between artists and fans. In fact, more than 22 billion new artists are discovered on Spotify every month, with 2 billion of those developing into more lasting connections between fans and artists.
AI Playlists has gained instant popularity since its launch in the UK and Australia. To date, users have created millions of playlists that they listen to over and over again. AI Playlists allows you to get creative and create the perfect atmosphere for any given moment or mood.
The Magic of AI Playlists
Creating a playlist with AI Playlist is as easy as entering your own prompt into the chat, such as “Upbeat pop music for a summer vacation in Europe” or “A romantic playlist to listen to for a date night at home.” Spotify will provide you with a personalized selection of songs that fit the vibe you’re going for. You can modify and refine it by entering additional prompts.
The more specific you are, the better the results. The most successful playlists are generated with prompts that combine genres, moods, artists, and eras, so get creative. You can also reference places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors, and even emojis.

Get started with AI Playlists
To find AI Playlists, go to the Spotify mobile app and select (Library) at the bottom right of the screen.
From your library, tap the “+” button in the top-right corner of the app and select “AI Playlist.”
Choose one of the suggested prompts or write your own. Be creative and remember to be specific.
Spotify will create a personalized playlist for you featuring tracks, artists, and genres it thinks you’ll like.
From there, you can easily manage your song selection by previewing or removing tracks, or ask Spotify to adjust your playlist with additional prompts.
Tap Create and your new playlist will automatically be saved to your library.
While AI Playlists is designed to be fun to play, the feature is still in beta and will not generate results for prompts that are not music-related, like current events or specific brands. We’re also taking action against annoying prompts, so please use the prompts responsibly.
