The event will provide insights into innovations and trends in key areas such as smart manufacturing, supply chain management, sustainability and workforce development. The event’s exhibition will feature over 250 exhibitors from across the semiconductor supply chain from around the world and is co-hosted with electronica India and productronica India. It will be the largest single platform in Southeast Asia showcasing the latest advancements in the semiconductor and electronics industry. Registration is now open.
Themed “Shaping the Future of Semiconductors”, the event will showcase India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India (GoI) and the Indian Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
“India is poised to blossom into a global semiconductor hub as the semiconductor industry looks to strengthen supply chain resilience, cater to the fast-growing electronics market and hire the region’s abundant engineering talent,” said Ajit Manocha, president and CEO, SEMI.
“The Indian Semiconductor Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Government of India are committed to building a diversified and resilient semiconductor supply chain,” said Akash Tripathi, CEO, ISM. “In the last 32 months, ISM has invested a total of over $17 billion across our four semiconductor manufacturing facilities, putting India on the global semiconductor manufacturing map. With an extremely talented talent pipeline and the Government of India’s strong commitment to help develop the semiconductor industry in India, we are confident that we will be successful in becoming a trusted partner in the global semiconductor value chain in the coming years.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India and the accompanying exhibition on September 11, 2024. The opening ceremony will feature keynote addresses from prominent industry leaders from SEMI, NXP, Foxconn, PSMC, Renesas, Tata Electronics and CG Power.
