Building on the previous NVIDIA 560 Beta driver release, the NVIDIA 560.35.03 Stable Linux Driver was released today, providing the latest official NVIDIA graphics and computing support for Linux systems.
Overall, the NVIDIA 560 driver series is packed with great additions introduced in the previous beta. The NVIDIA 560 Linux driver series switches to using open GPU kernel modules by default for supported hardware, VRR support for laptops on open kernel drivers, new EGL extensions for XWayland, PipeWire backend for NvFBC, and various other Wayland enhancements and fixes.
Today’s NVIDIA 560.35.03 driver is focused on further stabilizing the R560 driver branch for use with Linux. There are several more Wayland fixes and other fixes collected over the last few weeks. Highlights include:
– Fixed a bug introduced in 555.58 that caused some DVI outputs to not work with HDMI monitors.
– Fixed a bug that could cause KDE Plasma Shell to freeze when hovering over or opening an applet while running in Wayland compositor mode.
– Fixed a bug that could cause the display to freeze when viewing a window using Wayland direct scanout on multiple monitors.
– Fixed a bug that could cause the kernel to crash when attempting a KMS operation over DRM when nvidia_drm was loaded with modeset=0.
