About Dashan Huang: Dashan Huang is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Lee Kong Chian School of Management, Singapore Management University. His paper, “Twin Momentum,” explored how traditional price momentum can be combined with improving fundamentals to produce market outperformance. In the paper, he identified seven fundamental variables (revenue, return on equity, return on assets, accrual operating return on equity, cash operating return on assets, gross profit on assets, and net dividend payout ratio) and combined them into one fundamental momentum indicator. He showed that according to this indicator, the top 20% of stocks will outperform the market going forward. Combining this indicator with price momentum doubled that outperformance.
