Perplexity has told investors it hopes to raise about $500 million in a new funding round, the newspaper reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The newspaper said the terms may change and funding may not be raised.
SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund 2 invested in Perplexity earlier this year at a valuation of $3 billion. The company has launched a series of revenue-sharing partnerships with major publishers, even as it faces accusations of plagiarism from some news organizations.
