Cerence (CRNC) Announces expanded cooperation with NVIDIA (NVDA) Advances the capabilities of the CaLLM family of language models, including the cloud-based Cerence Automotive large-scale language model and the CaLLM Edge built-in small-scale language model. Through this collaboration, CaLLM will leverage NVIDIA AI Enterprise, an end-to-end cloud-native software platform, and some features of CaLLM Edge will leverage NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin. Integrating agent frameworks and in-vehicle conversations in both cloud and embedded formats requires a comprehensive, multidisciplinary effort that combines expertise in hardware, software, and UX domains. Cerence AI collaborated with NVIDIA hardware and software engineers to enhance its ability to meet production schedules and commercialize generative AI innovations for automotive. Specifically, Cerence AI is leveraging the NVIDIA AI Enterprise Software Platform, including NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM and NVIDIA NeMo, an end-to-end framework for building, customizing, and deploying generative AI applications into production environments. This accelerated the development and implementation of CaLLM. As a result, Cerence AI has optimized and customized the CaLLM family of models to: Deliver faster in-car assistant performance with NVIDIA accelerated computing and SoCs. Developed an automotive-optimized implementation of NVIDIA NeMo guardrails to ensure Cerence-powered systems can handle the subtleties of in-vehicle interaction. Implement and optimize agent architectures on CaLLM Edge via NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin to help improve next-generation in-vehicle user experiences
