Stephen Edison ’03, managing director and partner of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), led the Doland Dean Executive Forum in Spring 2025 with a conversation entitled “From Algorithms to Impact: AI Trends in Consulting Careers.”
As part of Dean’s executive forum event for the semester at Charles F. Dolan Business School, Edison spoke to almost 100 students about how artificial intelligence (AI) can impact employment, industry, and future as a business leader.
Dolan school students saw Edison’s journey inside, from Fairfield Dolan classrooms to top ranks in Global Consulting. Alumni encouraged current business students to hone transferable skills such as financial analysis and quantitative reasoning early in their careers as a way to promote professional success.
During his consensus with Zhan Li, dean of Dolan Business School, Edison shared how artificial intelligence is used in consulting and provided examples of how AI “changes the way jobs are accomplished.” Just as he and his BCG team position their clients to evolve in the AI space, Edison encouraged audiences to think about how they can leverage AI tools to personalize customer experiences in the brand marketing space.
Edison is a global leader in technology and digital advice practices for the Boston Consulting Group related to technology, media and communications clients. He is also the North American leader in customer experience across the industry.
The senior consulting executive highlighted how Jesuit education at Fairfield Dolan positioned him for success by balancing technical expertise with human-centered skills. He emphasized the importance of maintaining ethics at the forefront of conversation. This is a principle rooted in the foundations placed for him in Fairfield Dolan.
Fairfield Dolandeen’s Executive Forum features prominent speakers for each semester. Many alumni, like Edison, will provide students with expertise in hot topics and real-world business applications as a way to return to campus and give back to the university.
