If you try to sign up for Nvidia GeForce now, it is not currently possible if it is a GPU maker game streaming service that allows you to stream PC games on other devices. Every tier of the service has a “sold out” notification on top of that, and people will not be able to sign up again when. But don’t worry, it’ll come back soon – well, part of it is anyway.
Nvidia spokesman Stephenie Ngo told Polygon he hopes he will be able to welcome new sign-ups “in about two weeks with a one-day pass.” So, you won’t be able to sign up for a one-month or six-month plan, but you can pay to play the game at least all day.
Regarding why the service is not currently accepting new members, the NGO told Polygon that Nvidia is “now moving to a new payment provider.” During that transition, it has paused new sign-ups, day passes and gift cards purchases. The company was featured on GeForce in late January and said it is expected to take “at least five weeks” for a full transition. The NGO says current members are not affected by these changes.
Unlike Xbox Game Pass, which has a curated catalog of fully streaming games, when downloaded to Xbox or PC, GeForce allows you to play for free, in addition to only games owned on the PC platform You can stream only the game. You can attract many (but not all) games from the Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Xbox Game Store. In particular, it can be streamed in high quality through one of the virtualized rigs powered by NVIDIA RTX. In my experience, Nvidia’s services have a layer of up to 4K at 240 frames per second, so the game looks better through GeForce than through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
GeForce is available on a number of devices, from handhelds to televisions. Nvidia announced at CES 2025 that native apps will be appearing on steam decks in 2025. So, at least, we’re trying not to get in the way of the payment provider’s transition before it arrives.
