Square Enix has shared a list of features available in the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This includes up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second, along with Nvidia DLSS support.
The trailer for the PC version, below, arrived ahead of its January 23 release date and, while short on details, does reveal that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has improved lighting and enhanced visuals compared to the PlayStation 5 version. It has been confirmed that this will be done.
While it doesn’t completely deviate from the original platform, it also includes support for the DualSense wireless controller and all the extra features it brings. Mouse and keyboard support is also available.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be offered with three graphics presets (low, medium, and high), but Square Enix said there will be “numerous graphics options.” This includes the ability to customize the number of background non-player characters that appear on screen.
This role-playing game came out in February 2024 as the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. It follows Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, and the rest of the party as they leave Midgar and explore the open world and its vibrant towns and cities.
As such, the PC version will arrive almost a year later as part of Square Enix’s multiplatform push, but director Naoki Hamaguchi has urged fans not to create inappropriate mods for the PC release.
In a 9/10 review of the original PS5 version, IGN said: “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth impressively builds on what Remake started as a best-in-class action RPG full of exciting challenges and awe. It has meant so much to so many people for so long. It’s a recreation of the world we brought with us.”
