Artificial intelligence is transforming our landscape and posing challenges to all levels of society, including state governments.
This week, the Nevada Governor’s Office released a policy on the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
This policy seeks to establish a comprehensive overview to ensure that the design and development of AI is informed by collaborative dialogue with stakeholders from a variety of institutions.
It also aims to protect Nevadans from the unintended effects of AI and data abuse.
This policy outlines the Governor’s Office’s ability to manage the use of AI by other government agencies and ensure that AI is used in a fair and impartial manner.
The policy was developed by the State Technology Governance Board and is currently implemented by the state Chief Information Officer.
